I developed a knock in the motor on the run to TSF. I checked it sounds like it is comming from the pan. Thinking it might be a main bearing?? Also have a problem with fuel, truck won't idle & surges when accellerating, might be a bad fuel pump, push rod?? Hope it is & that's the knock. Will check soon.

Well it's getting worse!! I'm almost positive it's the flex plate. I cannot change it out here - not enough room & the managers would not approve. (Will have to pull/move motor or tranny & tcase) So I either have to find a shop I can work in or have someone do the swap for me. Have to look into local shop rates...

what about renting a place to do it? I changed my motor in my storage unit! It's a 10x20 and is only $70.00 a month. you can work on your truck 24/7 there only rule is don't lift anything from the rafters. If you would like there number give me a call some time

I was thinking about that, but I will try to do it here. I'm going to hang a tarp on the side of the car port and work on it this weekend.

It's great to hear that you got it fixed.

They put reg bolts through the flex plate * into the torq conv. They "wallered" out the flex plate. They also had two metric bolts & two 3/8" bolts through the crossmember. I replaced the metric ones & will replace the 3/8" ones when I re-torque all the the bolts. She runs great!! The conv was cracked about 1/2 way around the bolts into the crank, and all three bolts to torq conv!!
